My daughter was telling me of a fish product she was introduced to in London. It was a fake caviar of sorts. Medium sized, roe- like pellets, black but without the luster or luminescence of caviar. She said it was, ummm, OK but lacked the bite of good roe. Made from fish but wasn't sure what parts. Sold in tiny jars even smaller than typical caviar jars. She could not remember the name. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?
