cake to trifle help!

by Megan Watts » Mon Mar 22, 2010 8:36 am

I made a german choclate cake yesterday, but it's really falling apart! I'm thinking of turning it into a trifle. Anyone have a suggestion of what to use for the layers? I've never done it before!!

Thanks! I should have thought about Kahlua! Too bad I don't have any of that. I think we'll just have to do whip cream, chocolate pudding and toasted coconut, since that's what I have on hand! I'm new to this experimenting stuff! I'm such a recipe girl.

I usually make a cream cheese layer with cream cheese, powdered sugar, and enough cream or milk to make it pourable.

With white or yellow cake, I add lemon or lime curd.
Bacon is meat candy.
