Had a visit this am from the Health Dept abot trans fat. It was one of the simplest surveys I have ever answered, especially considering the fact that our business costs can increase so much over 5 answers????

Apparently, one of our council members thinks we should be more like NYC, because they have banned trans fat in the city. If they are that bad, shouldn't the FDA pull them off the shelf so everyone can be saved from fried food???

Not really on my soap box, it just bothers me that people make poor life style choices everyday, much more so than eating trans fat.

To be fair, virtually all of the available evidence shows that cigarettes are bad for us, but we still sell them just about everywhere, despite the FDA & Surgeon General warnings.

Haha! If only our FDA was actually protecting us from food that is bad for us.

This was a hot topic here a couple months back

Even if it passes, I'm not convinced it could ever really be enforced. Maybe they will just single out bakeries and places that deep fry most of their menu and call it "spot checking"? I also think that if you are going to ban something then it has to be done on the retail level as well; just to make sure we are all playing on the same level field.
