Used Cookbooks

Anyone have any good suggestions on where to find used cookbooks, something like a second hand bookstore? Any libraries/organizations that have annual sales?

Half Price books on Hurstbourne. They have tons. Great prices, too.

However, if I know the book I want, I usually go to amazon.com and ordered the used book with the somewhat little wear. Even with shipping it beats Half-priced Books and since Half-priced Books isn't local, I feel no guilt.

There is a really nice selection of used cookbooks at a seller at Crazy Daisy on Mellwood. The booth is downstairs, I believe it it the first booth on the right. I found a book I'd been looking for for years for a pittance.

That would be Steven Lee's booth, he used to own the Cookbook Cottage.

if i'm just browsing and not looking for something very specific, i look in peddler's malls. i know for sure the one on dixie has a very large "book booth." pretty sure the one in hillview does as well. i second the amazon suggestion. also, try book and music exchange. you never know what you might find there. it's where i accidentally discovered my very favorite cookbook.

I've been looking for a copy of La Technique by Jacques Pepin for some time to replace my copy I loaned out and never saw again....The cheapest one I saw was over $100 on Amazon and unfortunately it's out of print now. I refuse to spend that much on a paperback book. I found my origonal hard back copy at an estate sale in Arizona and paid five bucks for it..... What a bargain......A really neat book from the 70's with every old school garnish you can imagine in it!

Dan- abebooks.com has Le Technique in paperback for under $15. It's my go to site for used books I can't find locally.
