Empanada Dough

by JustinHammond » Mon Nov 30, 2009 2:56 pm

I'm looking for a store that has empanada dough (if there is such a thing) or a good alternative to making it from scratch. I tried regular pie crust and didn't like the results.

I was wandering around the Val-U-Mart out in Iroquois Manor the other day and I'm pretty sure I saw some in the freezer section. I have no idea of it's quality though.

Pie dough probably had too much sugar in it to make it a good empanada wrapper. Did you try plain ol' puff pastry?

Do you have a store? If so, where?

I think it's Lotsa Pasta. Also you could try that Mexican Grocery store off of Fern Valley Road (name eludes me) that is halfway between Newburg and the Outer Loop.
