old cookbooks and mags

by Leah S » Tue Nov 10, 2009 10:16 am

I'm cleaning . . .
Does anyone want about 20 years worth of the Annual Southern Living books and/or really old Cooks Illustrated magazines?

I now have three more stacks: Gourmet (not many) Bon Appetit and Food and Wine.

Leah,
I don't know about Jefferson Co. because we live in Oldham Co., but our library takes old magazines and books. The magazines they put out and people can stop by and pick some up at no charge. The books they sell at a nominal price to raise funds for the library. I take all my cooking magazines (and I take WAY too many!) there and they tell me that they go very quickly. Also, have taken cartons and cartons of no longer used cookbooks. I feel that someone is getting some use out of them when my shelves get too full.

Our downtown library (the closest one to me) is not taking donations at this time. $7 million in damage has them pretty tied up.

Leah,
Do you know what year(s) the Gourmet and Food & Wine are. I'd love them if they don't match my subscriptions.
Thanks,
Deb

Gourmet and F&W are probably this year. However, since I had this offer two different chatboards, the mags got claimed over there.

And the cleaning continues.

Just as well, I have those. Thanks for the offer, though.

Once we get the pot luck and a couple of other loose ends tied up I'll PM you...BTW, are you talking about the hardback S.L. annual cookbooks ? Becky LOVES those things.

Yes to the hardbacks. I'm targeting Monday for the remodeling of the room beginning. I may store them in the basement or something.
