Heimerdinger Cutlery special for Hotbytes members!

by Ralph B. » Tue Oct 06, 2009 8:35 pm

* Robin has okay'd this posting. Thanks, Robin!

For those that don't know, Heimerdinger Cutlery has been in business here locally for over a century... and have all of the big names in kitchen cutlery (Global, Wusthof, Henckel, Shun, etc). Like everyone else, they have been hit by the economy.

So, in an effort to be more competitive (especially in the online world), they've cut prices on all of their chefs knives...by anywhere from 10 to 40%!

In addition to the price cuts, we're also putting into place a special discount for louisvillehotbytes.com members. If you purchase online at http://www.heimerdingercutlery.com, use coupon code HOTBYTES at checkout and receive 15% off the purchase total (discount not applied to shipping charge). For those that prefer to come in the store, just mention that you are a hotbytes member, and you'll receive your discount! Please note that no other discounts or promotions can be used with this offer.

This 15% hotbytes discount will end on 11/30/09.

I've been helping the Heimerdingers for about a month now in an attempt to get sales up and really push their web store. I think they are great people and deserve to be around for a few more generations.

Thanks everyone!

Ralph - any idea if this discount applies to sharpening services? I'm not really in need of new knives right now, I have a pretty good set (mix of Henckel and Wusthof), but a lot of them are in need of some honing and of course I'd rather support a local than ship them somewhere.

Thanks.

Heimerdinger is the ultimate LOCAL business. I was sort of a competitor for about twenty years sharpening knives. I did it on a mobile basis. They are like an old world company.

The best selection of cutlery in the city. kitchen knives, hunting knives, scissors, grooming tools.

If you want to know something about care of cutlery, they will have the answer.

Yep, they will honor the 15% discount on sharpening. Just mention you're a louisvillehotbytes.com member when you bring them in! Also...coming soon... they will begin offering mail-in sharpening services.

Ralph ..

You seem to have a relationship with Heimerdinger. I have no complaints with anything you have said, but I think it would be best if you disclosed what it is. Obviously I like and respect the company.

Sure..no prob. I've been friends with the Heimerdingers for about two years now. I am a marketing guy that helps out area small businesses. Creation Gardens is another food-related client of mine. I just started helping out the Heimerdingers about 4 weeks ago to help get them out of their slump.
