Where to find the best selection of barbecue equipment?

by Aaron Thomas » Sat Jul 04, 2009 1:12 am

Here there, everyone.

I'm planning on doing some 4th of July barbecuing this weekend (shocking, right? :D ) My friends and I have barbecued before, but we've never really known what the heck we were doing. I picked up a couple of books so that we could actually do it right for a change. I'd like to get the best equipment, but I've found that the big retail stores don't have much of a selection of tongs, brushes, spatulas, knives, etc etc...

Does anyone know if there are any specialty stores in Louisville with a good selection of barbecue equipment, or any retail stores that have a better than average selection? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a grill basket? i just bought one a couple weeks ago. Nothing special, 10 bucks, but I really enjoyed playing with it.

No, but it's on my list of things to try out at some point. It can be extremely useful, from what I've seen and read.

a topper is another really cool accessory to have. Just cool things that you don't really think about but when you have them it just makes things easier and simpler.

Brownsboro Hardware at Rudy Ln and Brownsboro Rd has a really good selection of BBQ equipment. Local folks and eager to help.

I also recommend Brownsboro Hardware, we just bought a new Weber + all kinds of supplies there. Great selection.
