I made the ugliest cake last night......
My son brought me the can of Pillsbury spray with flour that has a picture of a cake on it, of course asking for cake. He thought the cake was in the can (he's 23 months). We were about to have dinner so i threw a cake in the oven really quickly before we ate. Well, the cake is sitting on the kitchen table after dinner, cooling in front of an open window and my son starts asking for the cake. I kept telling him it wasnt ready yet, and of course he doesnt understand that.....
I begin to frost it, while it is still warm mind you, and the cake is just coming apart with the frosting. I try to add more of the frosting to cover up where the cake is coming up, to no avail. So there is this white crumbly mess that looks horrendous. I take some black writing gel to draw a Spiderman face on it, this was my original intent. All i can do is draw these two big eyes with some black lines surrounding them. The black gel mixed in with the frosting and sort of melted as well. My son is standing there waiting for me to get this done already. I show it to him and he exclaims:
WOW!!!! MINAMAN!!!! MOMMY! DAYEE DAYEE MINAMAN!!!! WOW!!!!! He just couldnt stop looking at it, he was in awe....
it was the ugliest cake that i have ever made.......
my point.... my son loved it. It was enough for him. Any parent can understand how my heart felt....it was awesome!
