I was planting today and thnking about some of my garden tools that I really love and could live without ( well, I guess I could but it wouldn't be as much fun

1) My heavy duty contractor's ( spiked) garden shovel for my orginally totally clay soil. ( I'm told my house used to be part of a dairy farm, but when they built Sprinhurst, they scooped off all the lovely humus-rich top soil and sold it- probably back to me

2) APS seed starting containers from Gardener's Supply. Self watering, I've reused the same one's for years and get excellent germination and strong starts.
3) Wall-o-Waters. These water-filled tepee s create a little solar greenhouse for heat-loving plants- to protect from fros and speed up early growth. I've used them for years for my tomato plants which typically go in in early April. The tomatoes loves them, and I love my early tomotoes!
4) Self-watering pots. Man, I love these things- needing to water my pots twice a day in July/Aug puts a cramp on my pool time. This year I'm planting a number of vegetables in these too- I've got a new book which highly recommends them for certain veggies to increase yields/reduce problems.
So what are some of the best/useful garden tools you have?
