Frying Oil

by Michele Cull » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:00 pm

We are hosting fish fry on April 24 and I need to purchase canola oil in bulk - maybe 3 gallons. We will be frying about 100 lbs of catfish. Any idea on a good price on this much oil?

I've seen big industrial sized containers (several gallons each) at both Costco and Sams.

Michele, if you're not a member of Costco or Sams, you can buy a 5-gallon container at the GFS Marketplace on Hurstbourne right next to Lowe's.

Hmmm. 100 lbs of fish - are you sure you only need as little as 3 gallons?

I have a few grocery size bottles already, but you are right - I probably need more. My record is 60Lbs and I can't tell you how much I used. The warehouse stores didn't even cross my mind. DUH! Work is less than 5 minutes from GFS. Thanks all!
