Anybody have a source locally for the real deal? I haven't looked yet- figured I'd ask you guys first.

Thanks,
Deb

Deb
I have purchased it several times at Lotsa Pasta. In the open deli case near the check-out. If you mean someone that actually makes it here, I dont know.

Jeff,

Great, that's exactly what I meant. ( I just didn't want mail order sources). And thanks for telling me where- I doubt I would have looked for it in that case.

Deb,
I picked up some tasso from Creation Gardens last week. Nodine's Smokehouse is the brand. Just happened upon it and had to have some. I love perusing Creation Gardens!

Amy,

How big was the package?- I don't need much.

Thanks,

Deb,
It was a 1 pound package. I haven't used much - if you don't feel like a trip downtown, I'm happy to share and I'm in the Springhurst area. Also, as suggested, I would check with Mike Best. I can vouch for their Andouille as being very good, but don't recall if I've seen tasso there.

Nodine's is a good house.
They will ship UPS (next day if your willing to pay) - they do a great job packaging there products as well.
As mentioned- Lots 0 pasta usually has their andouille and tasso.
Irish Hill foods also has a relationship with them - worth a call.

Thanks to Mark and everyone else for all your suggestions. I ended up getting the Nodine's andouille for our dinner ( from Lotsa Pasta) and really liked it.

The jambalaya recipe ended up using called for regular smoked ham, not tasso, so I still haven't tried it. How is the favor different from smoked ham?

Thanks,
Deb
