What is it called?

by vern cline » Sun Oct 05, 2008 7:20 pm

Wife is preparing a dinner for about ten people in our home and was wanting to work on her plating to "bump it up". What is the name of the little squiggles on the plate around the food so we can do the research.

You can search for Garnishes or Plate Presentation. Chefs sometimes use chopped fresh parsley, paprika or a combo of both on the edge of a plate. Sometimes they will take a squeeze bottle of the sauce to decorate.
Hope this helps....

I haven't looked at it, but I'm sure it would be a decent read for novices and professionals alike.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.
