Sushi class

by Suzi Bernert » Sun Jul 13, 2008 11:56 am

We gave son Eddy (he who loves all things Japanese) a sushi making class for his birthday. It was at Kensai on Veteran's Pkwy in Clarksville on Saturday. He had a blast. Chef Henry gave a 3 hour class on everything from cutting the vegetables to cooking the rice to asembling and cutting the sushi. They got a rolling mat, a set of nice chopsticks, a sushi "manual" and ALL the sushi they made. Eddy also bought a really nice knife for cutting - his first cutlery purchase (sniff, sniff,, my baby is all grown up  ). I came back before the class was over and talked to some of the students. They all said it was wonderful and they learned a lot. We also had a great dinner last night. Now Eddy is wanting to get to the Asian market to buy the fixings to do it at home.

There are 2 more classes on 7-19 (11-2) and 7-22 (6-8). Chef Henry said they do have openigs for both. He also said they would probably schedule more.
