To me, bacon is like garlic. It goes with just about anything. Yummmmmoooo. And as Emeril says, pork fat rules.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Has anyone else tried the thick cut maple bacon at Costco? I think it's to die for, and it has become my weekend indulgence.

Our all-time favorite is Nueske's Applewood Smoked Bacon. Thick cut with incredible flavor- makes you remember what bacon is supposed to taste like. I think they carry it at Fresh Market.

Oh my gosh, my husband is from Wisconsin, and we sampled this bacon over Thanksgiving, and it was incredible!!! Due to travel, etc. (and all the food his mom already sends back with us!), we didn't get any. I am so happy to learn that we can get it locally - thanks, Deb!!!!

The food service where I am employed serves an uncured bacon from Niman Ranch. This company and its family farmers supposedly raise livestock traditionally, humanely and sustainably to deliver the finest tasting meat in the world. I don't know if that's true, but my coworkers and I rave about their bacon.

Well, I suppose I can find out the exact bacon they use and procure some of it. I know the Executive Chef and I'll ask her about it the next time I see her. Of course, with a BLT, we have to also consider bread, lettuce, tomato and any other provisions.

Also, be aware that I'm but a mere IT kinda dude. I love to cook, but don't know how I'd fare against a real chef. :D

With that said, I HEREBY ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE.

That being said...It sounds like a good idea...Don't be afraid of making a good "Quality" BLT against the likes of me..

Remember ...It's all about the bacon and let the chips fall where they may!

Now the only thing we need is a venue and a couple of impartial judges...

For this... I nominate for a location...the BBC Taproom(if Dave will have us, and I'm pretty sure he will as long as we make him a sandwich too!)

As far as judges, let's see who follows this thread and go from there....You can choose your choice of venue if this doesn't feel comfortable to you...

I'm all about making it fair, I'll stand by my choice of BACON because I know it's the best!

My first nomination for a JUDGE is.. Ethan are you out there..I feel he would be an impartial judge as you can get because he's into sweets... But he has an great understanding of flavor profiles.

Your move ...

Dude, you are a real chef challenging a common man. What can I say? Let's get it on.

The "BEST" is just an opinion, so we shall see whose bacon REIGNS SUPREME.

I also have to find a way to get the bacon I need. Give me some time, please.

I'm sorry, that you feel I have an advantage against you...No hard feelings... I would love to eat some BACON right now on Grilled Blue Dog with in season Russian Red Tomatoes, Crispy Iceberg(Yep, I said it) and a slather of Housemade Ranch Dressing...and of course, an ample helping of Father's Bacon!!!
