Thanksgiving mistakes

by Carla G » Fri Nov 26, 2010 9:23 am

Keeping in mind that I've never called myself a great cook at least I can claim to learn from my mistakes. This years' Thanksgiving Day mistake...

I made escalloped oysters, a very easy dish to prepare that I was turned on to by my brother-in-law. Usually it's nice, plump oysters in a bed of salty crackers with a wonderful creamy texture. This year the simple mistake of adding a wee too many crushed crackers ruined it for me. The crackers absorbed the cream and dried out the dish considerably. Heavy sigh. A mistake I will not make again. (added to a looooong list already existing.)

Anyone else care to share?

My biggest mistake was not tipping the server more at the English Grill.
