Rice Ball recipe

by Stacey M » Tue Nov 23, 2010 2:42 pm

I miss Melillo's on East Market. Most of all, I miss their Rice Ball appetizer. I have tried to find a similar recipe online, but none have seemed to match up quite right. Anyone have a vegetarian-friendly rice ball recipe to share?

Send it over if you want me to take a shot at it. You can send me the Italian one or throw in your English translation too if you want to backstop me. ;)

Here's a handy converter for grams to ounces ( and vice versa):

It gets a little complicated when you start thinking about converting fluid ounces, though, Deb. You can't really use a straighforward 1 ounce = 28.5 grams for anything but water and other liquids with similar specific gravity. The difference may not be much save for very lightweight or very dense foods, but some tweaking is sometimes necessary.

Thanks for posting the link. After having been told otherwise by staff at the restaurant, its disappointing to know that the rice balls were not actually vegetarian.
