Arugula

by JustinHammond » Fri Nov 12, 2010 11:04 am

I'm looking for a good source for arugula, preferably in the east end. I'm currently buying it a Creation Gardens, but their hours are limited and the quantities quite large.

How much do you need, Justin? Mary *may* have enough in our garden to share.

Thanks for the offer. I'm needing it tomorrow for a salad for 4, but I'm more concerned about finding a constant source. I've never found it at Kroger or Paul's.

Hey Justin, I was just talking with Deb the other day about our hydro greens we are doing for the upcoming winter season and she suggested growing arugula. Obviously I cant help you out for tomorrow but I will definitely keep you posted on arugula. Right now we are doing various micro greens and some hydro lettuce. We should be pulling our first heads of lettuce in about three to four weeks.
I would guess some of the vendors would have it at tomorrows Bardstown rd market.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

That is damn cool. I'd buy arugula off you on a regular basis.

Getting to Creation Gardens is a hassle and I end up wasting half of what I buy or have to eat arugula every meal. I really need a new arugula guy.

Until John has you up and running, and as Chris LM mentioned, Whole Foods has it. I make a lot of argula salads, and have never failed to find it there.

You might also check Rainbow Blossom.

That's the sound my golden retriever makes when he greets me at the door, especially after I've been at work all day. "Aruuuuuugula!" I swear!

Justin,

Mejier ( Springhurst) almost always has the organic arugula in the plastic container ( don't remember the brand). It's my goto place for arugula when I need it for a recipe. One box would do 4 salads easily.
