Seems like a good day for soup. Ham, bean, barley and lentil soup are simmering away.

Garden and farmers' market dinner of roasted Galeux d'Eysines French heirloom pumpkin with fresh rosemary and sage, with quickly steamed kale on the side. Wine? I think craft beer would be good, maybe a Schlafly Kölsch.

Vegetable soup cooked inside a pie pumpkin.Just before serving, we topped our pumpkins with a thick slice of toasted bread and tossed it under the broiler with generous pile of Kennys blue Gouda.

The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Was last night, but worthy of mention... Made my first attempt at semi-cloning the Asopado from Mojito last night for dinner, including chunks of Spanish chorizo, cubed chicken breast, and chunks of U16 shrimp. Came very close, but more work shall be done.

Hey Becky, yep, the pumpkin flesh comes off while you cook it. Actually you kinda scrap it off with with your spoon as you eat it. We scrap out the seed and loose pumpkin stuff before we cook it. Its nice to get a bit of pumpkin meat with your spoonful of soup.
