Something is bugging me… (fruit flies)

by jpdurbin » Sat Aug 21, 2010 10:03 am

Not the Japanese beetles this time… Pheromone trap caught the buggers from my yard and most the neighborhood. My issue now has been fruit flies… I know restaurants have this issue too. I have been battling them for a bit with no results until yesterday. I and a friend were over at Bargain Supply and out of the corner of my eye I see a fruit fly pheromone trap. WTH, I’ll try it. In one night, they are gone. Best $1.99 I ever spent. I you have this issue; get them while they are still in stock.

Awesome tip - thank you! We haven't had too much trouble with them yet this year, but I know they are coming, especially with all the fresh veggies/fruit/melon scraps, and corn cobs! (they seem to love corn cobs) I've been keeping the scraps in the fridge until garbage day to try and avoid them, but I sure like this solution better! Thanks again! :)

Wal-mart and Feeder's Supply also carry them.

A glass with a couple ounces of wine left on the counter will do a decent job.
