Update!
I was just at Kroger this morning and back in the section of the store with the charcoal they have the same bags of mesquite I discussed in my last post on this thread. Also, they had hickory and apple wood chips. Just wrap a handful or two of the chips in aluminum foil. Poke some wholes in it. If you're using charcoal, don't put the packet on the coals until they are very hot and ready for cooking.
