I know all about the memory thing - mine comes and

On a related note for those who like Melinda's sauces and other condiments (or want to try them) - TJMaxx and Marshalls seem to carry them fairly regularly now in their tiny little food aisle. The Red Savina sauce is great, and if you see the Chipotle Ketchup there buy it all. The Habanero Ketchup is good as well, tho for some reason it is less hot than the chipotle.

Lotsa Pasta also carries some, although not all, of the Melinda's hot sauces. I keep the Garlic habanero sauce as a standard condiment on my table. 8)

When Marie Sharp's came out, rumor had it that it was the "original" Melinda's. Later you'd see both labels from both countries. It was a hot topic on foodie forums at the time, but we're talking about 15 years ago or more, and my memory's not that good. ;)

Robin,

Yes, Marie Sharp IS "Melinda's" under a different name. There was a trademark war between Melinda (Marie Sharp) and her U.S. distributor, the end result being the name change. The "new" Melinda's are not bad products but I have yet to try a comparable style of Marie Sharp's hot sauce that did not blow them out of the water. Marie Sharp's ROCKS...a much more "fresh" tasting product.
