Benaroya Sushi Bar - what do we know?

Hi all!

I am starting a new job downtown soon, and noticed that there is a little hole-in-the wall sushi place on 5th called Benaroya sushi bar. I love Caviar, but it would be great if I had multiple options in the 'Hood....

Anyone had experiences there?

It's as good as Caviar, and the prices are reasonable. It is now run by one of the old sushi chefs from Osaka on Frankfort.

I have not been there for a while, but the last time I went the quality of the sushi was excellent. The old sushi chef for Osaka on Frankfort Ave. owns it now.

I'm sure it's the same place. I work a block away from it. Until you get right up on the sign, it seems to read Bendova.

It's a serviceable place with decent sushi. Like any sushi place, it is not inexpensive.

What the others said. It's Korean-run (as most of the local sushi places are), and if you don't watch it, the prices can mount up. Decent sushi, though. A little off the beaten path for me. I have an old review around, but haven't been back for a long time.
