HotBox Eatery

Signage went up this morning for a new spot called HotBox Eatery, on Market near 5th, at the old TC's sandwich shop space. Haven't heard anything about this, and nothing evident on Google or fb. Curious - always enjoy new food options in the central business district. It also appears that Bazo's and Chop Chop Salads have bitten the dust.

I haven't walked down that way in a couple months, because I have been packing lunch. Bazo's and Chop Shop closing have me scratching my head, especially Chop Shop. $8-10 salads and the line was always stretched the length of the restaurant and sometimes out the door.

ChopShop's website lists the downtown location as 'closed for renovations' so hopefully they'll open again soon.

Man, the chop shop in st. Mat's is pretty skeevy. The downtown one prob has a much higher turnover.

OK, I'll say it: It sounds like the name of a cannabis cafe.

Bazo's Downtown has closed temporarily due to labor issues. We will reopen as soon as we can get a good staff put together and adequately trained. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

There was an article about it recently, appears that it is open or opening shortly. Sounds like it has potentail.
