Indeed, Indiana does suck. I had the misfortune of growing up in Southern Indiana and I can well remember standing in Harrison Co, staring across that wide river divide. I asked myself what must life be like for those chosen few, those sophisticated, well-dressed, cultured people, nay.... true immortals living across that river in a lush, cosmopolitan land? A land without rednecks or hayseeds.... where meth labs were but a distant rumour for the denizens of Hardin and Meade Counties.
I chafed at the unfairness of it all. Why dear Lord? Why must I have been born on the wrong side of the River of Enlightenment? Every time I traipsed to the privy with a corncob I swore on my anscestors graves I would escape that horrible land no matter the cost to life and limb and cross that river to the land of the bluiegrass.
P.S.
For the record I'm a 48 year old redneck-savant. I have an important sounding job title although most of my money goes to the social welfare state and my ex-wife. Still, I think wearing a suit and tie to work should validate my opinion on these weighty matters.
