I'm pretty sure Bill nor anyone else sees her decision to leave unhappy memories behind as an insult either. I think it was pretty much her insults that are perceived as insults.

Her self serving assertions that she is mature because she owns a business, mothers a child, and is involved in a charity at the age of 29 indicate to me that she will likely never even understand what being mature means.

A mature person would have felt bad that she had insulted someone even if she hadn't intended to. I'm also pretty sure I don't need to know her to believe her insults were intended.

I don't find any of those responses mature from anybody, not responding at all and letting it go would have been the best route for anyone feigning maturity.

Anyway lets get back to the Green Door

And yet that's not the route you chose. Yes, you should probably get back to reminiscing about 70's porn and stop feigning moral superiority here. :|

Before ya'll get back to the Green Door I would like to point out that had Bill...or Brian Curl or myself (to name just three) made that blatantly rude and totally bitchy comment the food dude would have been calling us on the carpet. Apparently we have a double standard for 29 y.o "business" owners.

I can't believe I have to spell this out: The difference involves belittling and launching personal attacks ON EACH OTHER. If Jamie had attacked Bill, I would have been on her like white on rice. I'm not going to defend the entire state of Indiana, though. It's big enough to take care of itself.

Look: The civility rule here has to do with bullying. Do you really have a problem understanding what bullying is, Steve, or why it's unacceptable? There is no double standard about that.

And while I'm on this rant, using the term "bitchy" to describe a woman you don't really know doesn't really make you look all that classy, either.

Thanks again for all the nice comments.

Also, sadly, the name is not a veiled reference to '70s porn, because that would be awesome. The owner could probably explain it better since it is something of a double, if not triple entendre, and precedes my involvement here.

As far as comments about Corydon in general go, I grew up here and have traveled all over the place since, and there is a lot of good and a lot of bad (and a lot of meth) in Harrison County, just like anywhere else. If you guys want to talk or learn more about Corydon, check out this website http://www.lifeincorydon.com/

Ah yes my blanket statement was directed solely at you. Thank you for personally insulting me when that was what you got mad about someone else supposedly doing prior to my statement. Well played sir well played.

If anyone should be insulted, its the dealers in corydon. I'm sure they have more to offer than meth. Cheap sugar laced weed, coke, their moms prescription pills, etc. Don't think they limit themselves to only one drug. But as Jesse said, its the same as all other small towns. But they probly aren't scanning their forums misinterpreting geographical 'insults' as personal attacks.

On the original topic, The Green Door (restaurant) is a cool concept that will give young cooks and seasoned chefs a chance to do something new, exciting, and fun while helping expose corydon diners and meth dealers to more variety of cuisine. I hope what they're doing works and continues to grow. Good luck Jesse!

So Brad.....and I'm laughing as I type this. When you issued your “blanket statement” calling all the posters on this thread immature for not ignoring the original insults, you expected all of us who you just insulted to do what? Ignore your insult?

Your logic is unassailable as long as you don't have to comply with it yourself I guess. If you had followed it and not responded yourself you would not now find yourself insulted. Now having been personally insulted by me, you again chose not to do the mature thing and ignore my insult. You have in fact responded.

Yep, your logic is sound as long as you...... wait a minute! Are you just feigning maturity yourself? Brad you're just one of us immature posters! Unless.....we're just feigning immaturity.

You know Brad, I wasn't mad at the original insulting comments. I was annoyed that the poster of those insulting comments was being given a pass for them and that the offended poster was being taken to task for being offended and responding.

Sorry, what was the original post about again? Oh yeah, what is the best route to the Green Door (Not named after 70s porn).

I'm sorry Brad. I will strive harder to feign maturity in the future. Ok, that's the last word from me on this. I do apologize to all of those who wanted to have a serious conversation about the Green Door.

jeez already, It was a joke, a big fat ( an apparently shitty) joke. I lived in Indiana for 18 years. I did have some fun out in the country. It wasn't all bad. It was not a personal insult to anyone. If anyone would have said that the highlands is just a bunch of free loading tree huggers I wouldn't have gotten the least bit offended. Why? Because it doesn't pertain to me. The reason I didn't appologize to Bill at the time is because he took a general statement I made and then made a personal insult back calling me immature. as far as the 29 yr old comment. It wasn't intended for me to toot my own horn but to give a little insight as to who I am. It does infact take alot of disipline to get up every morning work 12 a day, "mother a child", whose it at work with me quite offen, and be heavily involved in doing services for your community. I have never been called immature by anyone ,so for someone to take one comment about how I think " Indiana sucks" and dissect it so much that they think they know the fibers of my being is rediculous. I saw alot of negative things while living there. I mean when I was in high school I witnessed a KKK meeting in downtown Corydon. Right out in the open. Around 1999-2000. One of the many reasons I lost respect for that area. So yes. I think Indiana in general SUCKS! Do I think everyone who chooses to live there sucks, HELL NO! I still have a great deal of friends and family that live there. So for anyone who I offended ( especially Bill) I am sorry. It was a joke. I cannot guarantee I will not come out with "blatantly rude or bitchy" comments in the future. I read stuff on here all the time, way worse and more direct than what I said.

P.S I know some of you laughed

Oh and by the way Jamie I thought the joke was funny. I guess I'm not easily offended.

Jamie, that all makes sense. You're A-OK, and it was nice of you to clarify. I saw a photo of my friends' kid's birthday party at your place, and looking at the totally blissed-out smile on her face, you've gotta be doing something right. For the record, people talk smack about the Highlands all the time - "hipsters" (whatever the definition of that is - seems to vary with each person), freaky people, homeless, dirty, drafty old houses, crime, yada yada. I love where I live so much and just figure that it's different strokes for different folks. Go live where you want to live. I can sorta see why people were offended, but it really sounds like you didn't mean any harm. People can be really scarred by experiences in their youth, and it's fine if they want to flee. Just don't ever say anything bad about Louisville! (Ha, ha.)
