Mark, the Village Anchor has a really good one if you like them cut thick. The sweet potato fries with marshmallow cream dipping sauce that come with the sandwich are really special!

Haven't tried it by White Castle has fried baloney on their breakfast menu.

White Castle has great freshly fried egg and bologna sandwiches. And if you ask nicely, they will throw on those greasy fried onions.

I humbly submit our Fried Bologna appetizer: Everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure! Fried
bologna and white cheddar with Dusseldorf mustard and tomato on white toast points

I don't eat them enough to say 'best' but Shenanigan's on Norris has a good one. It's thick cut and makes a good lunch with beer & fries while watching half a dozen different football games at once on Sunday afternoon.

At Shady Lane wehave a yummy one.. Grilled Italian baloney with fried egg and sharp cheddar cheese with heavy mayo of course... another reason not to sign up for the free calorie count menus and such!

For the record, they have them at Slugger Field during baseball season, so perhaps Centerplate offers them at other sports venues as well. The ones at the ball games don't smell great, but that may just be me. :P

I'll agree with that but they do taste pretty darn good!

Slugger Field and White Castle or pretty good. My favorite is my homemade "white trash" special. Fried baloney cut north, south, east, west so when its fries up it looks like a German iron cross, American cheese, heinz 57 sauce on white bread. By the way it just looks like an iron cross no nazi reference intended.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Eiderdown. I recall posts that they have the one of the best fried bologna sandwiches around.

Absolutely! The 4-cut method is a must, or else it will curl up. My dad makes the best, actually. He taught me the method at a young age. I actually think it smells spectacular. Maybe it's an association with childhood thing.

For the record, my comments about the foul smell of Centerplate fried baloney at Slugger Field were not meant as hatin' on the dish in general, only that particular execution.

You could always get get a Gyro. It's just the Greek version of fried bologna.
