Used restaurant equipment

by Nancy Tarrant » Fri Aug 19, 2011 3:46 pm

I'm thinking about opening a Cheddar Box Cafe in St. Matthews. Anyone know where I could buy some used kitchen equipment? Also booths, tables and chairs. Thanks Nancy

Will this one be associated with the one in Middletown? Or the existing one in St Matthews? Or will it be another one completely?

Annemarie - thank you for the great advice. Mark, The Cheddar Box in Middletown used to belong to my daughter who has moved to California. The new cafe in St. Matthews will be associated with the present Cheddar Box in Chenoweth Square.

Dine on Preston usually has a pretty decent selection of used equipment and furniture.

We might have a couple of things still available from our revamp of the kitchen. What do you need?

Check with Andrew or Sam with Against the Grain Brewing (ex-Browning's space). They have a bunch of kitchen equipment for sale.

I believe they have one of those, if it hasn't been sold.

I have bought quite a bit of equipment over the years from a guy named Randy Shaeffer (has a giant farm and barns full of stuff in Henryville In.). He does the "auction" circuit and some of his stuff is marginal but it may be worth your while just to drive up there. It's like the "Jungle Jims" of restaurant equipment and Randy is quite a interesting guy as well. (812)-989-6611.-Dave

I'm in the market for equipment now guys. Looking for used if possible. Have a stove, fryers, steamers. I need a cold table, small work fridge (vertical), work tables, and some others. Please let me know if you have leads. I'm checking craigslist, Dine, and Chefs Supply.

Rick Pike in Cincinnati has a ton of good used equipment. He works 3rd shift though and does not like calls before 1pm.
