"However, I notice that the waitstaff, and hostess staff are kids that MY kids went to school with and they are all in "summer jobs" and not true restaurant people. Thus, trying too hard to please. uugh. "

Seriously, you're the first person I've ever heard that didn't like when people tried hard to please you. I have completely the opposite experience in most things. I find it's hard to get most employees at anyplace to even crack a smile or utter a hello! Maybe they need to fill the DMV and Medicaid office with summer employees and kids (and not true government people)!

Question for those that have been and like the place:

Is it some where I can take the kiddos for an early dinner? The burgers sound great!

100% yes. Very family friendly, not much of a bar vibe at all.

Really, the bar is in a separate room. I'd call the main dining room 100 percent family, in a good way. :)

It's interesting in that we found the service fine and the food generally lacking. The burger wasn't my cup of tea. We liked the pretzels. It's a bar food scene - I'll just eat pizza it that's the option.

My girlfriend and I went there Sunday night and enjoyed it. Sat out on the patio, and even in the heat it was a pleasant experience.

We found the service to be attentive and respectful. We had a hard time deciding what to order because we wanted to try everything, and while the server gave us some suggestions she also gave us the space to make up our mind for ourselves (we eventually settled on a burger and the chicken artichoke sandwich).

We're looking forward to going back, and definitely trying the bruschetta and the mac n' cheese!

We went on Wednesday and sat in the bar area after they sort of lost our reservation. No biggy since we were still seated before our reservation time.

We thought the food was good. It was nothing outstanding, but folks, this is sort of upscale-ish pub food. We had the pretzel bread with beer cheese, Crafters burger, mix of regular and sweet potato fries with garlic mayo, parmesean broccoli, and slaw, and were pleased with everything.

Our service was great and the space is nice. Living in the Highlands, we have a lot of options for good bar/pub food, so I don't see Crafters on our regular rotation, but it is the half-way point between us and my dad in the Anchorage area, so I have a feeling we'll be meeting him there on occasion.

It was nice to be able to walk to Comfy Cow after dinner (my first Comfy Cow - the salted dulce de leche is as advertised).

I finally made it to AP Crafters. Best pretzels and beer cheese I've ever eaten. Hands down.

Burgers were tasty. Their house beer was well above average. Deserts looked good.

But those pretzels and beer cheese... I could live off that. I will definitely be going back.
