Capriole Annual Open House Oct. 10.

by Robin Garr » Thu Sep 16, 2010 9:18 am

Capriole Farms will host its annual Open House on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. You're invited to tour the barns, gardens and pond, and beautiful farmland while sampling owner Judy Schad's farmstead goat cheeses.

This year, Chef Dean Corbett of Equus &Jack's Lounge, and Corbett's: an American place will prepare a Southern BBQ lunch. The menu will include 30-hour slow-baked beef brisket with BBQ, Texas baked beans, classic potato salad and Texas Totast, with Judy Schad's persimmon pudding for dessert. Greg Hall of Chicago's Goose Island Brewery will be on hand with beer samples, and the Capriole Farm Store will be open for sale of Capriole's award-winning goat cheeses, such as O'Banon and Wabash Cannonball.

Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Capriole Farms by phone at (812) 923-9408 or online at www.caprioleinc.com. If the weather is bad, the open house will be postponed until the following Sunday, Oct. 17.

Hmm, that's ugly. I'm sure it was working when I posted that. I can't find another URL for them on Google, either. Best to phone, I guess.

Thanks, guys! I should have thought to Google "Capriole Goat Cheese". Searches for Capriole Farm or Capriole Farm Greenville got lots of links ABOUT them but none direct TO them.

Copied and pasted direct from a PR firm's news release, too. :P

We can't make it until a bit later, anyway, so this works out just fine.
