That show is an insult to foodies everywhere. So $%#@&!! what! The guy can eat a 5 pound hamburger or 10 pounds of hot wings. What an idiot.

It's not just an eating contest, he does highlight some decent food by restaurant reviews prior to the gorging....

I have to admit we tried two of his picks in Columbus OH last year after seeing his show, mind you we were already going this just gave us somewhere to try that appealed at least on TV. 1st was the sausage palace, aka Schmidtts(?), which was a letdown of sorts as the place was more hype than substance. The next night we choose the Thurman Cafe (not too far from the other place actually) and enjoyed ourselves and the food more. I do get tired of his schtick of getting all worked/psyched up to eat something (copiously). My 0.02.

So glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't get it...

I like the show. He's entertaining. He's cute in a fat boy with curly hair (yeah...you have to know my bf) kinda way.

I don't get the attraction either. I'll watch if I stumble on it, but bolt before the pig out. Some of the places look cool.

Yeah, the best parts are before the eating challange and it gives "locals" some TV time.

I can't imagine what he'll eat. It's not like Indianapolis is known for anything...flavorful.

My 7 year old niece is OBSESSED with this show...I watch it, too, but the eating challenges just gross me out.

First off.. is there a more pretentious word on the planet than "foodie"? Definitely not in your case.

Secondly.. how is that show offensive to food lovers? Adam loves to eat. He doesn't claim to be a culinary genius nor does he claim that the places he visit have the best food on the planet. He likes what he is eating, and it's fun to watch him try to complete the challenges. Especially the ones involving extreme spiciness. It is no more or less than a strongest man competition.

Man v. Food is part travel show, part cooking show and part eating contest. I enjoy it for what it is.

I think if you want to find the idiot you should hold a mirror shoulder high and get a good look.

Or maybe just climb down off your high horse and give it a rest.
