New FABD Smokehouse

by Heather L » Fri Jan 22, 2010 11:50 am

Just noticed this on a walk - attached to the Wine Market at the corner of Lucia and Bardstown Rd - signs saying "New Smokehouse" with FABD signs in the window - coming soon!

This location has housed many little bars/restaurants over the years, but I can't remember what the most recent one was called.

Anyway - just a heads up for BBQ lovers. FABD Smokehouse coming soon!

That's where the Cribstone Pub was for a year or so, Heather. Mary noticed that as we drove down Bardstown Road last week, but I (d'oh!) forgot to post about it.

Exciting.

Was Cribstone the place that had fresh lobster every day for super cheap?

Does anyone know if this is going to be a second location or are they moving?

I'll guess it is a second location, the Frankfort Ave spot is always packed. I have been a few times where I couldn't even get a table.

Submitted by Holly Freeland on Fri, 01/22/2010 - 08:59. Bars Dining Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot Louisville - Highlands restaurants

One of Louisville’s favorite BBQ smokehouse restaurants is expanding and putting down new roots at 1202 Bardstown Road.

FABD’s Rob Alvey says they hope to have the building open and ready for business by the 1st of March… just in time for everyone to break out their Spring Fever! Rob and his crew will be bringing over FABD’s menu, their extensive beer selection and the great atmosphere that makes it one of a kind.

After Cribstone closed its delicious door-Jo came in turned the cute little space into NV Tavern-I think they last about 2 years! We would go to sing every once in awhile and Jo was a GREAT lady and lots of fun!! Can't wait for the FAB Deck-FABD to open!! :D

That's the one! I assume that was totally different management, of course. It's been gone for a year or two.

I noticed the FABD sign after coming out of Derby City Chop Shop. I believe it's nearly across the street. Get a good haircut/shave then walk across the street for BBQ. :D
