Bombay Grill Offline

by Paul Mick » Mon Jan 12, 2009 8:56 pm

As a carryover from the restaurants forum, who wants to go to Bombay grill in the near future? They have a lunch buffet every day of the week. (11-230 M-F; 12-3 S/S) Additionally, they are open for dinner from 5 until 9:30.

I can personally make it out most days during lunch, but the days that I can't are fairly random so it wouldn't be worth it to try and list them here. Same goes for dinner.

Just throwing a day out there, what about Saturday the 24th?

I'm not sure how amenable they might be to doing this, especially as I've never been there before, but does anyone think that we might be able to organize a "Traditional Indian Banquet" a la the offline at Red Pepper a while back. It doesn't really matter one way of the other in the end, but I think the idea has a lot of potential if we could somehow swing it.

What does everyone else think?

I'm in for lunch! I'd have to check on dinner that night, but it's possible...

What day would you all want to go on? Some people want to put it off until late February/early March because of the Shrimp and Grits Throwdown, but personally I think we have time to go between now and then. That gives us nearly a month to work with, and I'd hate to wait around 2 months to go. I know the 24th definitely doesn't work for Tom, so what about lunch on Friday the 30th or Saturday the 31st?

I'd like to be in on this. Saturday the 24th is doubtful for me. I could make Friday, the 30th for a one o'clock lunch or anytime for lunch on Saturday, the 31st.

Mary and I are certainly interested. Lunch sounds good, and somebody mentioned a Saturday lunch. Generally, any day but Wednesday works for me, but our calendar can get complicated.

Anne and I will attend, were flexible this time of year.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Judging by what I've heard so far, it seems like Saturday 31st at 12:30 should work for most people. If there are any objections, please let me know.

I'll start a tentative list from what I've seen so far on here, let me know if I put you on here and you can't make it or if you would like to be on the list. Also, I've never been there and I'm not sure how large they are. Should I call ahead and let them know we're coming since there are 11 of us so far?

I thought I said yes- so I am doing so now.
We should definately let them know a large group is coming so that there will be a table and also that they are prepared foodwise. I would think letting them know we are from Hotbytes might make the selection more exciting.
