1st Annual Artisan Bazaar at the Taproom!

by Stephen D » Wed Dec 03, 2008 12:39 am

This Friday, December the 5th beginning at 6p, BBC will be hosting its first annual Artisan Bazaar:

Glass Blowing
Jewelry and Glass Beads
Leather Working
Custom Cat Trees
The Hound Dog Press
Ceramics
Stained Glass
Metallurgy
Photography

Neil Spillman will be providing seasonal music and I will donate my time to offer complimentary, seasonal and period-inspired cuisine made with BBC beer...

Come out and support your local artisans, I know I am!

Nice! Is there anyway to get a list of participating artists?

I'm going to a final planning meeting today at 6p. I will assemble a list for everyone then.

(later that evening...)

Here we go:

Kersting Photography, Maureen Capshew ~ Quiltwork, Glass Dreams ~ Glasswork, Houndog Press, Jackie Neidorf ~ Glass Beads/Jewelry, Page Guthrie ~ Ceramics, Nicaraguan Wood Jewelry, Marlen Dennis ~ Stained Glass, Tom Scanlan ~ Cat Trees, Jackson's Organic Coffee, Isaac Gavi ~ Watchmaker.

I'm sure some of that may change with circumstance, these things happen. I apologize if I butchered any one's name as well. I believe the idea is to promote an all-inclusive environment that paid billing to both established and non-established artisans.

Sounds like fun to me! Food is gratis and will be there till it runs out. We have decided on a rustic middle-age tradition: that of braised meats and seasonal vegetables placed in bread bowls. I promise, though, our bread will be fresh! Pickled items were already on the menus by now. Of course we will be using BBC products to cook with...

Bourbon Barrel Stout Braised Leg of Lamb
Award Winning APA Root Vegetable Ragout
Pickled Beets
Big Red Pickled Onions
Lemon Rosemary Yogurt Sauce
Probably some improv...

My wife Anne will also be there with wreaths and other evergreen decorations she has made.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

I'm missing him as well. Speaking of which, I haven't seen much from Clancy, Crawford or Baylor, either...

Stephen - Awesome job on the food. I heard nothing but rave reviews - myself among them. The lamb with the veggies on top in a mini bread bowl...delish!

You and Rob did a great job organizing the event. Seriously. I was blown away at the turn out! I'm not sure you new, but I had to go buy more bread!

I was very happy with the lamb and pickled veggies. Not so much the veggie ragout. I should have stuck with my original idea of garlic confit. Oh well!

It was also great seeing the Hagan's again alongside some of the forumites and lurkers to the site...

What a great turn out. I thought the glass blowing people and the guys with the vintage printing press brought a unique element to the mix of vendors. The lamb rocked and those little pickled red onions were addictive.

Yes, kudos to Rob indeed. He was the brain behind it, I just added a little extra hand so he didn't have to do it all alone! Super glad you were able to prepare the food - and I have to disagree on the veggies, they were terrific on top of the lamb in the bowl! And still good as little cakes!
