Okay: Matthew and I spent the early evening organizing donations into "lots". There are two categories of lots to bid on: A) the Live-Auction Lots, and B) the raffle-ticket lots. Live auction lots will be auctioned off live around 8 PM by a professional auctioneer. Raffle-ticket lot winners will be determined by a drawing before 9 PM. Patrons will be buying strips of raffle tickets throughout the evening and dropping their tickets into bags representing the raffle-ticket lot items. So if you really want that massage-and-haircut combination lot, you could buy a strip of tickets and drop them
all in the corresponding receptacle. That will give you a better chance of winning the things you want most, and Adam will get funded by everyone that wants certain items, not just the winning bidder (as would be the case in a traditional silent auction).
Being present to win is the best scenario, but if you're not present, you might still win your raffle-ticket-lot of choice....you'll just have to check back here for a list of winning ticket numbers. The winning numbers will also be posted at Derby City Espresso for one week.
Naturally, you will have to be present to win the live-auction lots!
Here is a list of what we'll be auctioning/raffling off tomorrow to help Adam get back on his feet:
