Welcome to Kentucky gathering

by Gayle DeM » Sun Aug 17, 2008 8:28 pm

On Sunday, September 14 from 5:00 to 8:00,I would like to host a small party at my home to welcome Steve and Becky Pearson to Kentucky. (The date and time have been cleared with Steve and Becky.) I would appreciate it if those coming would supply a tasty addition to the festivities as was the case with the Bar-BQ and Book Drive that Ed hosted for Jessica. I will provide three different meatballs to cover the "big" protein items. Since this is at my home, I will have to close the invitation if the crowd numbers more than thirty, but I don't foresee that being a problem. When you respond, I will send you a PM with directions

What a nice gesture, Gayle! I had just assumed that we'd arrange a restaurant offline to welcome Steve and Becky to their new community, but an in-home party makes for a mighty civilized alternative.

Our calendar's clear on the 14th ... please save seats for Mary and me. :)

Gayle (and All)

Becky and I are extremely flattered that you would open your home and welcome us to Kentucky. With the move less than a week away we feel like kids at Christmas time. We are looking forward with great anticipation to meeting many of the wonderful people who help make this forum such an interesting place.

Thanks for coming in and inviting me.
I'll plan on attending and bringing some coffee and teas.

Please add John and I to the list. I will ponder about what to bring. Any requests? I was thinking maybe a couple cakes, but I'm up for anything.
