Sounds groovy to me. I just wanna eat. Once we get a solid list of folks together, I'll call and make the reservation.

Would love to be there, but a weekday lunch won't do. Doogy, please nudge via pm if the day changes to a Saturday and I do not chime in.

Monday, the eighteenth sounds fine with me. My preference is for a first floor table, but I am flexible.

My vote is for first floor or patio also.

Hopefully by midweek, we can get a solid list of attendees. After that, I will make the reservation. The date and time are looking like Monday, August 18th around 12:00-12:30. Is this sounding good for most everyone? I apologize to those for whom this isn't going to work.

Maybe another offline can be arranged for an alternative date?

Looks like Richard and I can both come, we are both off that day. I do have a dentist appt. in the morning, so the later, the better, due to distance, dentist is in the Highlands.

Hey, GREAT quotes from you in the Falls Fountain story in LEO yesterday. Hilarious! I didn't realize you were such an old-timer. ;)

I'm very pleased with the way that article turned out, and I've emailed the writer, Jim Welp, telling him so. What he said about how Gannett and Clear Channel decimated the former Bingham media empire was spot-on.

No joke ... having lived through that period at the CJ, I've got the T-shirt: "When I die, I'll go to Heaven, because I've spent my time in Hell."

Jim is an outstanding writer, one of the few people I know with a sense of humor even wackier than mine.

This thing seems to have gotten off track so I don't know if it's gonna happen. If anyone is really serious about it, post soon. My mom was even looking forward to attending. She wanted to enjoy a great meal and meet some of my friends.

Huh? I see about 10 to 12 people who've signed on and said yes. I'm not sure I understand what the problem is here, Doogy. You volunteered to organize, which was a nice thing for you to do. But what's gone off the tracks?

Go through the thread, pull out the names of those who said they'll attend. List them, here and in the main forum, and ask whether everyone who signed on is still in.

It would have been better if this had happened before the weekend, but the last couple of times I've been to Corbett's for lunch, there's been a comfortable crowd but plenty of room.
