Corbett's: $20 prix fixe lunch.

by Doogy R » Wed Aug 06, 2008 9:02 pm

I am proposing an offline at Corbett's for lunch. We could also visit Gilberto's Gelato and possibly the lil farmers market nearby. Anyone interested?

Oh, I'd love to join this offline outing, too. Could we make it between August 13th and September 5th? I don't wan't to wait too long.

Depending on our calendar, Mary and I will likely join in.

Please, all, note that this is a classy, upscale place. We'll want firm reservations and should plan to keep them, barring serious last-minute issues.

Any day is good for me. I do agree with what Robin said about making solid reservations.

Monday is definitely better for a lot of our folks in the business. Aug. 18 works for Mary and me with the caveat that I have an appointment in St. Matthews at 3 p.m. and would have to be out of Corbett's by close to 2:30. That shouldn't be a problem for lunch, assuming service doesn't bog down badly. ;)

So, is Monday August 18th shaping up to be the day for the event? What time would be good for everyone? After working downtown for years, I found it best to arrive before or after the lunch rush. Hopefully more folks will hop on board.

As noted, it would be a very good idea to make a reservation, so beating the rush really shouldn't be much of an issue. I have to be out of there by 2:30 on that date, so personally I'd like to shoot for noon or 12:30 at the latest.

Perhaps a note in the main forum pointing to this thread, for the folks who don't think to check this forum daily?

I'd love to attend. I've been to Corbett's, but haven't seen the basement. Is there seating down there?

There is seating down there, but just to stir the pot, I personally find it much, much less pleasant than upstairs. Dark, low ceilings, ancient stone walls. It's okay, but I love the elegant old rooms on the main floor, especially the sunroom with all the windows overlooking the patio.

Still, if the group wants a basement space, I won't have a tantrum. It's nice all over.

I'd prefer a first floor or patio table, if asked. So, shall we say 1200 hours (noon) on Monday 18 August? Doogy?
