PR: Belgian beer dinner March 4 @ Corbett's

by Robin Garr » Sun Feb 10, 2008 9:31 pm

If you haven't yet discovered Belgian beers and haven't yet had the pleasure of Corbett's, this will be an excellent opportunity to enjoy both experiences. If you already know, you'll need no prodding to sign up for this one while space is available.

Sorry, the news release didn't list the price. I've Emailed for information and will post it here when I find out.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza. D Barry

Pete Larsen is a pretty knowledgable person, and should be an excellent host for the event and their portfolio of Belgian beers are top notch. Delirium, Kasteel Bier, and to me one of the better, yet less heralded Belgian breweries, Gouden Carolus

Ditto. When I first heard this, I was afraid it might be one of those "wholesaler rep" affairs that tend to, er, disappoint.

But Pete's cool. Need to check the calendar. Brett, you reading?

Gina and I are attending.
Just hope the pairings are as interesting as those @ Stratto's.
We've been wanting to sample Corbett's as Equus/Jack's are in our top ten.

I emailed a while back, and at that point, Pete didn't have info on the price, so I didn't even ask about the bill of fare. If either he or someone at Corbett's is looking on, I hope they'll jump in with details. Otherwise, I'll put out another call for info soon. :)

Sorry for the delayed response, I just returned from California late last night.

This sounds great. After the long thread about beer and fine dining last month with Corbett's being used as an example, I think we should book a table and put our money where our mouths (and opinions) are. I'm in if anyone wants to join. Let me know by next week and I will make a reservation if it is not too late. Shawn, I already have you down as you were the most vocal. It's time for us all to put up or shut up.

I'm coming over to your place tonight if you are going to be there. I need a night of "anything but wine" after my trip. Hopefully I'll see you there and you can let me know in person.

Come on fellow beer fans, we're looking for a few more to join in. So far it is Roger, Shawn (involuntarily), and myself. At the least I would like to book a party of four.

Earlier in the post someone said $55++ so with a 20% tip it will be $70 total.
