open on Thanksgiving day/evening?

hi folks!
for the benefit of those of us who might not be able to cook, could we do a list of places that will be open and serving on Thanksgiving Day? Not carry-out, mind you, but actual reserve and come dine? I know there won't be many but perahps a few?

I'm pretty sure Oriental House is staying open. It's probably worth checking with other sit-down Asian places as well.

Normally the restaurants and major hotels are also open for Thanksgiving and other holidays.

I checked when I went last week, they will be carry out only on Thanksgiving, 11-5.

You might consider Joe Hubers, Joe's Crab Shack, Churchill Downs, or Captain's Quarters is doing a Thanksgiving day cruise with a meal.

I thought that Mitchell's was privately owned now and not part of the chain? I didn't realize that Brickhouse was part of a group!

And one more: Walker's Exchange at the Galt House will serve a Thanksgiving brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There were two Cameron Mitchell restaurants, Martini's which is now an independent, and Mitchell's Fish Market which is now part of Landry's. I do not know if Martini's is open Thanksgiving or not.

I called Captain's Quarters (10 days out) to reserve a spot on their Thanksgiving Day cruise. The moment I told her I was reserving for 1 she said, "Oh, sorry, no. Totally booked." Well, given that it was a holiday and a bit of a extra special thing to do I thought that, yeah, that's not too surprising. So I asked if the restaurant was open and serving .
"For one? Just one?"
"Yes, just one. I don't need a big table, just something out of the way. Put me next to the kitchen if you want. " (I laughed)
"For one?"
"Yes, yes, yes for one. As in single."
Well ....um...I can take you at 11 AM."
"oh, OK.Not a problem.
"You'll have to give me a credit card and if you are a no show we charge $10."
"Not a problem, I understand."
"So....just one? and 11AM is OK?"
"Yes, that's fine."
"You are sure?"
"YES!"

Get to the restaurant guess what? No reservation noted . I told her the day I called for the reservation and about taking my CC info to no avail. Her attitude was kinda "Sucks to be you." She turned me away to face the family behind me until another woman stepped in and said "Of course we can seat you." And she did. And from there on out everything was fine. Great service, very good Bloody Mary and, for the price point, I thought the buffet was very good.

I think I was genuinely hurt that the original hostess left me feeling she did not want to take a reservation for a single person and the second one was all too ready to turn me away (on a holiday no less) after THEY dropped the ball. Had that been the case I doubt I would ever return. This is what I'm wondering ...in this difficult time for restaurants I seriously doubt that the situation arose from a single person taking up space at a table for 2. Money is money. (geez I can't believe I'm saying this out loud-) Could it be that some younger girls are so frightened by the idea of ever being alone that they are offended when they witness it?
