Tell us your favorite hot-and-spicy dish at a local eatery

by Robin Garr » Sat Apr 09, 2022 1:05 pm

I'm trying to come up with an overview of the region's most delicious, palate-scorching, endorphin-boosting delights. So, tell me, please, your favorite fiery dish at any local restaurant. I'm not looking for general cuisines but specific dishes (like Vietnam Kitchen's K8/VK8). Which might, by the way, be one of my picks. :)

Tom Yum Soup at Time for Thai, K8 at Vietnam Kitchen, Joella's Chicken, and August Moon's Hot and Spicy Chicken, all come to mind.

Thanks, Gary and Iggy! Keep em coming, everyone!

Iggy, is that La Lupita in Clarksville? I need to get back there. I really loved it before the pandemic.

Fried chicken with Xtra Hot Jeaw Bong Laotion sauce at Chick-n-Mi ... or get the sauce on the side and add it to their Ramen noodle soups!

Most of the Indian restaurants in town have one or two dishes that have the perfect combination of heat, spice, and taste for me, but every restaurant has a different dish and I can never remember which is which!

The Gored-Gored at Queen of Sheba on Taylorsville Rd across from Bowman Field is amazing! Spicy hot, and so flavorful.

It’s seasonal but I think it qualifies. The hot fish sandwich at Royals is just awesome. It runs about 2 weeks earlier/later than Lent so it’s a good bet before/after fish fry season.

The gonzo sauce at Royals is probably the hottest thing I've ever had in this city. Not my favorite, just too hot for me.

X-tra Hot chicken at Chik'n & Mi

Anything at Simply Thai at a #6 or #7
or the wasabi dumplings for that other kind of heat

Spicy chicken at Indi's is hard to beat on pure deliciousness.
