Everyday Kitchen

by JustinHammond » Wed Sep 22, 2021 7:39 am

We had a very tasty meal at the bar last Saturday. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We planned on just stopping in for a drink but the happy hour menu talked us into dinner.

Tartine - duck confit, mushroom conserva, corn chow chow.
Hummus Brulee
Roasted Beast Sando - sliced pork and slaw on a shitake infused bun
Old Fashioned, Negroni, and draft beer
$50 plus tip

This place is somewhat confusing. The dinner menu and prices are far from a restaurant named Everyday Kitchen. The menu is very interesting and mains run from $16 (burger) to $41 (duck or steak).

Granted we were there at 5:30, but there were only two other tables sat on a Sat. night. I'm thinking the name has people thrown off as to what type of dining experience they are in for.

Interesting point about the name....

I've read some similar stuff (it may have been here somewhere) that was very positive about this place. Although it may have been slow when you were there, I've been by there when there were quite a few people inside. Nulu is a hot dining and hanging out area and is on an upward trajectory. The impending former church entertainment complex across the corner and the Joe Ley hotel project will eventually draw even more foot traffic towards that end of Market St.

Roger Baylor has a story on Everyday Kitchen in the new issue of Food & Dining Magazine (you can read it online). One thing I found interesting: Clever Moose Cafe, the coffee shop associated with Everyday Kitchen, is going to start operating as a Japanese izakaya in the evenings.
