Pier 17 Cajun seafood

I see the Jason's Deli in the shopping center where Shreeji is has closed. There's a banner that says Pier 17 Cajun Seafood coming soon. The only thing that comes up in Google is a restaurant in Seoul.

For just a second I thought you said Shreeji had closed, and I was going to break out in loud lamentations. Cajun seafood is good, but if I go way out there, it's going to be hard for me to choose Cajun over Shreeji.

I drove by this place today and noticed that the sign says Pier 17 Cajun Juicy Seafood. I was a bit puzzled by the “juicy,” but apparently that’s a thing now. There are several small Cajun seafood chains, including The Juicy Crab (based in Georgia) and The Juicy Seafood (from Alabama). The menus seem similar to the relatively new Storming Crab in Clarksville, Ind. (which is part of a Tennessee chain).

Theresa, all we have right now is "coming soon." Watch this space, though!

As long as it has sat seemingly untouched I'm guessing never.

Seems like a fair prediction, Mike. I was going to mention Noche Mexican BBQ, which kept pushing back its opening for what seemed like a year or more. But at least they were working in there.

Back in early December I ran into a guy outside Pier 17 -- I don't know if he was one of the owners or a contractor working on the project -- and he said they hoped to open in about two months. So maybe we'll see something in February.

There is a Facebook page now, but it doesn't have any posts yet.

I was wrong. Drove by last night and there were lights on and a couple work vans outside. I look forward to giving them a try when they open.
