Whiskey Row lands 2 new restaurants

by James Natsis » Tue Apr 23, 2019 1:55 pm

As per Business First. They will be in the dual-brand hotels at Main and First. One will be a "bourbon-themed steakhouse," and the other........are you ready?..... yes, you guessed it......."a taco concept that debuted last year in Chicago."

I guess since it is a taco "concept" and it "debuted ...in Chicago" it must be extraordinaire!

Given that Chicago's near west side has become one of the largest Mexican cities in the world, I wouldn't be too quick to assume the worst of a Windy City taqueria. The "concept" word is worrisome, though ...

Here is a link to the taco restaurant called Zombie Taco. https://www.zombietacochicago.com/

They are located in the Moxy Hotel in Chicago. It doesn't look like there are other locations. I'm guessing that Casey from "Man vs Food" will probably come to town for the 17 lb Monstrous Zombie Burrito challenge!

All said, adding two new restaurants to Whiskey Row is a coup and Zombie Taco will get mucho amor!

Really going out on a limb with a bourbon themed whatever. This is one of the most unimaginative cities.

Was the city given an opportunity for input? I must have missed the email.

I think the menu looks pretty darned interesting. I'll definitely give it a try or two.

If it was up to me we would have a Death Star over Bowman Field serving up laser sandwiches. 8)

That taco joint has more in common with Taco Bell than it does Juarez. Pero, los hombres no lloran, wey. :D

I don't think that works. Rich white people are for Trump, and Trumpanzees don't do tacos because racism.

it would seem that rich white people are actually fairly split in their voting tendencies, and it seems silly to try to lump them into one group, as it is for most people.

i am only half a white people, but still feel as though its probably not a great idea to demonize people based on wealth.

im all for demonizing trump supporters, but that probably means that im part of the problem too.

Edit: most importantly, leave tacos out of it. they are pure and innocent and dont deserve to be a part of this.

Also, Dan, I should confess that I was just responding to snark with snark. Your points are well-taken, though.

If you have money & voted for Trump you're racist and don't eat tacos.

...that type of thinking is why he's president, and will be again. Great stuff there from the Forum Admin!
