It may not look like it with the late winter we've been having, but Derby season is coming up fast! The Kentucky Derby, first Saturday in May, falls on May 4, only 29 days away! This is our annual place to post your dining- and entertainment-related information for 2019. See details at the bottom of this page.

Churchill Downs opens for the Spring Meet with evening races on Saturday, April 27. The track is closed the following Sunday and Monday, then Kentucky Derby Week begins in earnest with day races (and Dawn and the Downs) beginning Tuesday, May 1.

Things quiet down after Derby, when the Spring Meet continues through June 29. There's a brief late-summer meet this year from Sept. 13-29, followed by the Fall Meet, Oct. 27-Nov. 31.
This link goes to the full Churchill Downs calendar for this year:

Kentucky Derby Festival events begin tomorrow night, April 6, with the Fillies Ball, and the Taste of Louisville on April 9.
Thunder Over Louisville
begins the season in earnest on April 13 at Waterfront Park, 11 a.m. until the fireworks show in the evening. It's a week early this year in order to avoid activities the following weekend, when Passover and Easter converge.
Here's your list of Derby Festival activities:

Pleast post your Derby-related events as replies to this post, creating a message "thread." As always, there's no need to ask individual permission to post on this thread, but we do ask that you stick to the facts and avoid PR hype. :) Also, please change the title of your post to show the name of your restaurant and event.
