Misawa Hibachi and Sushi Bar

by James Natsis » Sat Jan 05, 2019 10:14 pm

It looks like we are getting another Japanese place out in Fern Creek in front of Kohl's just at the edge of Glenmary. The official sign is already up although it seems like there is work left to be done before they open. Any idea who is behind this?

I stumbled across their business filings with the state. Apparently this has been in the works for a year. Names on the paperwork are all lawyers and agents. The address for their home office is oddly the same as a physical therapy rehab center in Sellersburg.

This place is opening Sunday, according to its Facebook page. Insider Louisville had a story about the owners a few weeks ago.

Good to know things are happening in The Creek, Rich. I also got a note the other day about a good Mexican spot in Fern Creek, El Vacquero, at 5414 Bardstown Road. It looks like the El Nopal / Los Aztecas genre, but my source highly recommended it.

There are quite a few places opening in that area these days, especially Mexican. Guanajuato opened another supermarket w/restaurant and carniceria just down the street from El Vacquero There are also two regular Mexican trucks/trailors along that part of Bardstown Rd.

Hisawa is the third Japanese restaurant along that stretch ( which includes Sake Blue). Aspen Creek, a thai restaurant, Fiesta Time Amigos, Outback Steakhouse, and Sicilian Pizza are all clustered at the entrance of Glenmary within a stone's throw of Hisawa. I think much of the business is coming from anything south of Glenmary towards and including Mt Washington where creative food choices are not bountiful (read, don't really exist!).

4 Seasons

by Steve Shade » Fri Feb 15, 2019 10:36 pm

Also in Fern Creek is a Bulgarian restaurant .. 4 seasons .. on Hudson Lane directly across from St Gabriel. Interesting and good food. Similar to Turkish. Good service. Unfortunately, it is in a building that has housed a number of places that have been short lived, at least partially because of a lack of visibility.

Full bar and enough parking.
