Peking City Closing

by Christina Firriolo » Sat Dec 08, 2018 11:26 am

I just saw this posted on Facebook. I am going to miss their pan-fried dumplings so much!

"I want to thank you all for your kindness support and coming in the past two and half years! Because of the family issue, I have to sale the business. If you still have our gift card purchased after 08/16/2016, please come and use before 12/16/2018.

Neither did I. We were just there last weekend, and I was already making plans for future visits.

I had planned to take my daughter there sometime soon so she could try the wonderful dumplings, but now I feel that maybe it's better she never know what she'll be missing!

At least it appears that they're not closing. Yafang Tao told me that the new owners will continue under the same name and probably the same menu for a while before they consider changes.

Darn, we went there last week after we had been avoiding it for long time because of the poor quality and found that the quality of the food and service had increased back to a very good level. We were already talking about going back again sometime soon. Now with another change of ownership it's going to be an adventure to determine what the quality of service and food is again. Hopefully, it will be good but there is really no guarantee of that based on past experience.

At least there's some hope if it's not completely closing!

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! As you know from prior thread, this restaurant is dear to me. I hope the new owners value offering real Chinese cuisine and maintain the high level of tastiness that I have been enjoying for three years. I CRAVE the stuffed pork intestine.

Louisville Cafe India is applying for a liquor license to operate at 12410 Shelbyville Road, which is the address of Peking City. Are the new owners of Peking City planning to turn it into an Indian restaurant? I couldn’t find a website or Facebook page for the new place.

I (mostly) lurk on a Louisville/Indian facebook page and this was posted a day or so ago, it's right across the street from Clay Oven!

I hate to see Peking City go, because in its prime it was one of the top Chinese restaurants in town. But I do love Indian!

That Sucks! My wife has been planning on learning to cook Chinese and this will just push that process along! I was hoping the people that were taking over Peking City would continue to have excellent Chinese food like the present and 1st owners did. Losing another good Chinese restaurant and gaining another Indian restaurant is not something that Louisville needs!

Opinions expressed above are from someone who doesn't like Indian food!

Well, I figured there was one way to figure out what was going on and that was to go to the source so I sent a message to Peking City on Facebook. Attached is the reply I got.
