I love that list, Nate! It's sending me on all manner of trips down memory lane.

If you had set your cutoff at 25 years, not 30, you could have brought El Mundo and Irish Rover into the mix. They opened right around the time we got back to town from NYC in the last week of 1993.

Lots of love on that list! China Inn on U of L's campus is where I had my first experience with Chinese food. They had just opened around the time I was a senior at U of L in 1989/90. Penny still owns it, I believe. It's been a little bit since I've been in there, but I need to fix that. :)

Gerstle's Place (95 years!)

Even though we've done a lot of renovations the past few years, it's super fun to have people from all generations come in and remember Gerstle's from days of yore...

I can definitely do a pulled pork sandwich by request. We've floated a few on and off the menu, but our Memphis Nachos (with pulled pork, white queso, fresh jalapeños and house slaw) is the big pork item for us right now. We also do a pulled pork taco that I eat a bit too often myself... We roast our pork shoulder in-house and I'm pretty proud of it. I'm there Thurs-Sun, so pop in and say hey, and I'll hook you up! :D

Another restaurant that's been around forever that I still enjoy is Luigi's on Main. They opened in 1996 so not in their 30's. I have always enjoyed their Calzones. I used to eat there almost every week when I worked downtown. Now I try to visit once a year or whenever I'm in that area to visit the 21c museum.
