A friend went and reported that it was good. Here's a dark shot of the menu.

The wife and I went out there last night and had a drink and some amazing deviled eggs and tempura mushroom fries! The place looks awesome and David Danielson has assembled a seasoned staff of pros to take care of the guests. The drive is not that far at all.

How about fried chicken? Old Stone Inn had the best fried chicken around in it's more recent incarnations. BTW, I still make the original's eggplant casserole.

Might you be interested in posting that eggplant recipe? Pretty please.

As soon as I can reach the shelf (recovering from broken leg). Just a warning...it's rich. Starts with a bechamel sauce, and goes from there. :)

No hurry but many thanks.
Now I’m really curious because I wasn’t expecting a bechamel sauce!
Take care of that leg.

Margie, forgive me, but I've not been on the forum in a few days...I spoke with chef about the lack of fried chicken on the menu...he's actually looking into it!

That being said, t)he menu (which Robin was kind enough to grab from my Facebook page) is totally splendid! Wound up meeting (by happy accident) some dear friends there and we had a blast! The food, service, style and feeling of the old place shined!

Can't wait to go back!

just a note to tell you all that we *thoroughly* enjoyed our traditional Thanksgiving dinner at The Old Stone Inn, yesterday! I highly recommend it to one and all and here's hoping that they'll do a bit more promotion of themselves, i.e. menu offerings, bar information, etc.
But really, it was a treat and we'll be looking forward to other visits there anytime we're "down that way"!

Carla, I still can't reach the shelf with mom's recipe, but this is the basic recipe, except mom taught me to make it with a homemade cream/mushroom sauce, and we always baked it in a small casserole instead of the eggplant skins. I suspect the original was made with cream of mushroom soup.
