All is well at Chik'N Mi

by Jeff Cavanaugh » Fri Aug 10, 2018 9:16 am

I didn't slow down to confirm details, but driving through LowBrow yesterday morning, it looked like Chik'N Me had closed. The old Mexico Viejo sign was uncovered, and I didn't see any Chik'N Mi branding anywhere on the building anymore.

If so, RIP to concept 57 (seemingly) in that cursed space. Maybe number 58 will be the one that sticks.

Yikes! Although it never really rang my chimes, I thought it was really popular. That surprises me.

No news on their facebook page, and nobody's answering the phone right now. It's early yet, but no voicemail?

I could totally be wrong, and if so we can edit the subject line here. Maybe they're just getting new signage.

It's a fair report, though, Jeff. Thanks for the alert. I might run over there this afternoon to see what's up, and I'll report back. And edit the subject if necessary. :)

We have eaten there 15-20 times and the place is always busy. I don't get it.

They are not closed. Heard it directly from the restaurant.

Yeah, I just got a response from their FB page:

No we aren’t closed. All our signs are here. What sign are you asking about?

I thanked him and reassured him.

From my internal contact: All false rumors. Sign is still here. The “Mexico viejo” sign they are referring to has always been there- and we are actually getting a Chik’n & Mi sign up very soon!

Ate one of the best brunch meals I've ever had there this morning! We are frequent diners there and they are always busy and churning out some of the best food ever. Come to think of it....I've got leftovers in the fridge so excuse me...nom nom nom!!!
